Welcome to Striking Showcase. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of strikingshowcase.com and related services (the "Platform") operated by Striking Showcase ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf.
1. Platform Overview
Striking Showcase is a recruiting platform connecting competitive high school bowlers (ages 14–20) with college bowling coaches across all divisions (NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and NJCAA). The Platform provides tools for athletes to build recruiting profiles and for coaches to discover and communicate with prospective athletes.
The Platform is not an employment agency, athletic agent, or recruiting service. We do not guarantee college placement, scholarship offers, or athletic outcomes. We provide the tools — the recruiting outcomes depend on the athletes and coaches who use them.
2. Eligibility
Athletes must be between 14 and 20 years old to create an account
Athletes under 18 should have a parent or guardian review these Terms and the Privacy Policy
Coaches must be affiliated with a college or university bowling program and must provide a valid .edu email address for verification
Parents/guardians may access the Platform through the Family Access feature by invitation from an athlete
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
3. Account Types and Access
3.1 Athlete Accounts
Athletes create profiles containing personal, academic, and bowling information. Athletes can:
Create and manage their recruiting profile, including stats, media, tournaments, and ball arsenal
Control profile visibility settings (public, coaches only, or hidden)
Receive and respond to coach messages
Invite up to 3 family members via Family Access
Subscribe to Free or Pro plans
3.2 Coach Accounts
Coaches register with a .edu email and are subject to verification before gaining full access. Coaches can:
Browse and filter athlete profiles
Add athletes to a watchlist
Initiate and manage message threads with athletes
Use recruiting board tools to track prospects
Coach accounts are always free. Coaches will never be charged for Platform access.
3.3 Family Access Accounts
Family members (parents/guardians) receive access by invitation from an athlete. Family members have:
Read-only access to the athlete's profile, recruiting activity, and coach messages
The ability to reply in existing coach message threads (replies are labeled as parent/guardian)
Notification preferences for recruiting activity
Family members cannot initiate new message threads, edit the athlete's profile, or access features beyond their designated view. Athletes may revoke family access at any time.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Plans
The Platform offers the following subscription tiers for athletes:
Free Plan: basic profile creation, limited features
Pro Plan: enhanced features including profile analytics, priority visibility, and advanced customization
Current pricing is available on the Platform. We may modify plan features or pricing at any time with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
4.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All payments are processed securely through Stripe — we do not store your full credit card information.
4.3 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Account Settings. Upon cancellation, your Pro features will remain active through the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months. Your account will revert to the Free plan after cancellation.
4.4 First Month Free Offer
We may offer promotional free trial periods for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged at the applicable rate.
5. User Content and Conduct
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Platform, including photos, videos, stats, and written content. By uploading content, you grant Striking Showcase a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content in connection with the Platform and its marketing. You can revoke this license by deleting your content or account, except where content has already been shared in marketing materials.
5.2 Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that all information in your profile is accurate and current. Misrepresenting stats, academic records, eligibility status, or identity is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension or termination.
5.3 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Provide false or misleading information in your profile or communications
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a school or program
Harass, threaten, or send inappropriate messages to any user
Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or infringes on any third party's rights
Use the Platform for any purpose other than legitimate recruiting activities
Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization
Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform
Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or security
Use the Platform to violate any applicable law, regulation, or NCAA rule
5.4 Content Reports
Users may report content or behavior that violates these Terms. Reports are reviewed by our team, and we may take action including content removal, warnings, or account suspension. Reports are processed in accordance with our internal review procedures.
6. Messaging
The Platform provides a direct messaging system between coaches and athletes. The following rules apply:
Verified coaches and subscribed athletes may start message threads with each other through program profiles
Athletes and family members can reply in existing threads; family members cannot start new threads
Parent/guardian replies are clearly identified with the sender type "parent" in all threads
Messages are stored on our servers and are subject to our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to review messages in response to abuse reports or legal requirements
We do not monitor private messages proactively, but we may act on reported violations
7. Coach Verification
Coaches are required to provide a valid .edu email address and institutional information. We review coach registrations and may request additional verification. A verified badge indicates that we have confirmed the coach's institutional email — it does not constitute an endorsement of the coach or their program. We are not responsible for verifying the accuracy of a coach's stated role, authority to recruit, or program details.
8. NCAA Compliance Disclaimer
Striking Showcase is a communication and profile tool. It is the sole responsibility of athletes, families, and coaches to ensure their use of the Platform complies with applicable NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, and conference rules regarding recruiting communications, contact periods, and eligibility. We do not provide compliance advice and make no representations that using the Platform satisfies any governing body's requirements.
9. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its design, code, branding (the Striking Showcase name, logo, and tagline "Show Off. Get Recruited."), and all original content created by us, is the property of Striking Showcase and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without written permission.
10. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee that athlete profiles will result in coach interest, scholarship offers, or college placement. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, including coaches, athletes, or family members.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Striking Showcase and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of recruiting opportunities, or unauthorized access to your account. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Striking Showcase, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
13. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, including but not limited to:
Providing false or misleading profile information
Harassment or inappropriate conduct toward other users
Unauthorized access attempts or security violations
Any activity that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Platform or its users
You may delete your account at any time through your Account Settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your profile data will be removed within 30 days, subject to our data retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Illinois. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action. This arbitration clause does not apply to claims that may be brought in small claims court.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform with a revised "Last Updated" date and, for significant changes, by email notification. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Striking Showcase regarding your use of the Platform.
